Mary Johnson, CPA*, QKA
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President at Ventura, Mary is responsible for ongoing clients, ongoing transactions, training new client service team members, and managing the annual valuation update process. Mary started at Ventura on day 1 in 2016. She previously worked with Neil at Bankers Trust Company, where they managed 62 ongoing engagements and 150 ESOP transactions. Since 2011, Mary has worked on more than 100 ESOP transactions and with more than 100 ongoing ESOPs.
Mary brings 20 years of experience with qualified plans, entrepreneurship, third party record keeping, and serving as a trust professional to Ventura. Mary became a CPA (*inactive) in 1996 and a qualified 401K administrator in 2001. She then spent 24 years in qualified retirement plans, and 10 years in trust settings and partnership in third party administration firms.
Mary is a member of the ESOP association, NCEO, MN/Dakota chapter of TEA, the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), and the AICPA. She uses her knowledge from these groups to do great work for our clients.
Mary lives with her husband, Greg, is an avid quilter, and loves spending time with her 7 grandkids.
