Steve has been an active investor/entrepreneur for nearly thirty years. He founded or co-founded firms in insurance, life sciences, manufacturing, and information sciences. Most recently he co-founded the cooperative insurance venture CoOpportunity Health which grew to nearly $400 million in revenues in twelve months. He developed innovative state-sponsored venture capital, angel capital and employee ownership statutes in Iowa. Steve is a regular speaker on entrepreneurial capitalism, employee ownership, and good board practices before the Iowa Legislature and at industry, banking, and university conferences.

Steve served as a board member for Web Industries for more than 20 years where he served as Chair of the Audit Committee, Member of the Finance, Governance and Compensation Committees. Steve is on the Board of the Iowa Taxpayers Association. He graduated from UC Berkeley in engineering, from Dartmouth’s Tuck School with an MBA in finance, from Bentley University with an MS in Taxation and served as a Captain in the USAF.
