Charlie Christensen

President and CFO, Christensen Group

Charlie is the CFO of Christensen Group, a 100% ESOP-owned insurance brokerage firm based in Eden Prairie, MN. Since joining the firm in 2012, Charlie has developed a passion for employee ownership. He’s participated in a number of local and national ESOP conferences and spoke at the Midwest Regional ESOP conference on ESOP valuations. Charlie was also responsible for developing a model for acquiring insurance agencies and the Christensen Group has made 5 acquisitions.

Prior to Christensen Group, Charlie worked for NewStar Financial where he underwrote senior debt facilities for private equity-backed transactions ranging from $20MM to $500MM in enterprise value. Charlie is on the advisory board for The Micah Group, a banking software startup, and Children’s Council in Minneapolis. Charlie graduated from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College with a B.S. in Business Management with concentrations in finance and accounting.
